I don't have any urgent need to sell, but I've decided to post mine on Craigslist again. If it sells, awesome! I'll have money to either save, spend on fixing our new house we're buying this month, or get something else. I've seen a few bargains lately that are just out of my price range. Of course if it doesn't sell, no big deal. I'll continue to work on it when weather improves and maybe try again to sell it or fall back in love with it.
Anyway, here's the link if anyone is interested: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

It really is. People tend to think these things are difficult to work on, but I've actually found it to be easier than my '96 Grand Prix. More components, but that just keeps life interesting, haha.

did you post a video of this starting up in the super cold weather recently?

Yea cars of the era can only be so difficult. Those 5cyl's are world known as tons of power waiting to happen.

I made this video a couple years ago before a bunch of the repairs, but it still gives you an idea of what it sounds like at least.

Sure did. This thing is pretty solid. Started up better than my Grand Prix in the same weather.

Well, I'm without a car at the moment, and your car actually fits my budget if just so. If I were to buy an older car, I'd definitely rather buy one from a fellow Jalop, so there's that.

I would feel mostly comfortable daily driving it right now, but it will need some work at various points. It's an old Audi after all. If it's your only car, it will work if you're determined, but might be frustrating. I've had this as my second car all three years I've owned it. Should be pretty reliable by now, but it just depends.

I see. Well, the field of work that I'm going into (roadside assistance), requires me to have a car/truck that can get to places other vehicles usually can't, but also get there reliably. I was considering a legacy wagon, especially one of the early closed deck turbo ones, but they're extremely hard to find nowadays.

It would probably work for that, even reliability-speaking. If something went wrong, it probably wouldn't be the drivetrain. Belts are new, engine and transmission are pretty solid. It's just little things. Like the ABS and rear diff lock. If you could get the rear diff lock to work, it would be a beast in snow and mud. Put the right tires on it and it would be even better. I just use all-seasons right now.
I don't know exactly how much you'd have to rough it for roadside assistance, but ground clearance might be an issue. It sits fairly low for any sort of off-road action.

It's not rough terrain per se. More like snowy and icy roads that I'd have to traverse. But it sounds like it'd be alright with that. I wonder how it'd look with a set of winters on black steelies :P

Pretty much perfect, I'd say. I've always wanted to do that.

I love the sound of 5 cylinder motors and I want one...
